Tired of looking at a pool that is dated and dirty?

Tired of looking at a pool that is dated and dirty?

When you have a pool that isn’t looking it’s best…

  • It’s stained
  • Missing tile
  • Has rough and peeling plaster

…that can make you feel like you’re missing out on enjoying the full potential of your backyard.

We totally get it! We’ve helped hundreds of homeowners just like you transform their pool into the oasis that they’ve always dreamed of.

Pool Resurfacing Winnetka

1. Lasting Swimming Pool Resurfacing

One of the reasons why Winnetka pool owners look to Stanton Pools when it comes to pool resurfacing is because our work provides them with lasting results. Some of our clients share their pool resurfacing and pool deck resurfacing horror stories with the swimming pool showing signs of wear early on. Scaling and cracks show up immediately while the surface somehow fades quickly.

We do our best to prevent these issues from happening with our pool resurfacing Winnetka services.

First, we make sure to carefully drain the swimming pool. Amateurs make the mistake of draining the pool without removing the hydrostatic plug or by drilling small holes in the pool floor which typically results in a popped shell. This mistake can cost the pool owner more money and can extend the timeframe the pool project can be finished.

Next, we remove the old surface of the pool using conventional tools like hammers and chisels as well as more powerful pneumatic devices like a jackhammer. This allows us to slowly chip away the old shell in preparation for the application of the new materials. Furthermore, cleaning the surface ensures that the new material will hold well.

After leaving the new surface to cure and set, we will add the water and check its chemical balance before we turn over the pool to its owner.

2. Pool Deck Resurfacing

Our pool resurfacing Winnetka services not only involve resurfacing the actual, pool but this service can be used to resurface the pool deck as well.

Age and exposure to the elements can damage a pool deck. Signs to check include damage to the floor, discoloration of the surface, and loosening of the materials used for the pool deck’s surface.

The process is similar to our above-mentioned pool resurfacing Winnetka service starting with the removal of the old and damaged pool deck surface. It will be followed by a quick clean-up of the deck and allowing the exposed concrete to dry up.

Next, we apply our customer’s chosen material — usually the kind that matches the material used in the swimming pool — and allow it to set and cure. Depending on the situation, we may apply a sealant to give the deck additional protection and improved durability.

3. A Wide Choice of Materials

Here, at Stanton Pools, we understand that some of our customers want to personalize their swimming pools. And like how luxury cars offer bespoke customization options, we also provide our clients with a wide range of material choices that best fit their needs and their budget.

As an example, one of our customers opted for white plaster to be used for the pool in our pool resurfacing Winnetka project. White plaster has several advantages making it a befitting choice for pool owners on a budget.

First, white pool plaster is cheap. The mixture used for white plaster consists of Portland cement and silicate such as ground limestone, quartz sand, or marble dust. Second, white plaster has a beautiful effect on the pool water making it shine and appear clear. Finally, a white pool plaster allows a pool owner to easily spot any damage to the surface. Likewise, a white pool plaster makes it easy for pool owners to see if anyone in the pool needs help.

4. Hassle-free Pool Resurfacing

Pool resurfacing can be stressful. Because of the work involved, our pool resurfacing Winnetka services are usually the busiest and the noisiest kind of project. That said, we make sure that our customers are rid of the discomfort that comes with resurfacing a pool.

We guide our customers through every step of the way. We update them on the progress of the pool resurfacing Winnetka project so they are always in the loop and they can have a clear timeline as to when the actual pool resurfacing or pool deck resurfacing work will be done.

Additionally, we also help our clients with paperwork. This means we assist them in securing the necessary permits and the requirements needed for the pool resurfacing project.

5. Saltwater System Installation

Most of our customers who take advantage of our pool resurfacing Winnetka services have opted to have a saltwater system installed in their swimming pool.

A saltwater system involves the use of a saltwater generator that converts salt to chlorine. Instead of manually adding chlorine to the swimming pool, the saltwater generator automatically adds chlorine to the water eliminating the need to constantly check the water’s balance. Furthermore, it means that the pool owner no longer has to store hazardous chemicals in their homes — which is a relief when they are living with toddlers and pets.

Good To Know

Frequently Asked Questions

Why is it important to work with a contractor that is licensed, bonded, and insured?

By working with a licensed, bonded, and insured pool contractor, you can rest assured we have the knowledge, experience, and coverage to safely and properly revamp your pool – everything will be done to industry’s best practices.

Why does Stanton Pools not ask for a deposit?
We only ask for progress payments after certain phases of each job are complete. Unlike most contractors, we’ve never felt right asking for payment before work was done. This way, you’re in control and can trust we will complete each phase to your satisfaction.
What is the warranty on plaster and pebble?
Pebble has a 10-year warranty on bubbling, delamination, and pop-off (it often lasts 15-20 years). Plaster has a similar warranty, but only for 2 years because it is not as durable of a material compared to pebble.
Does Stanton Pools include the startup with every remodel?
Absolutely. It is extremely important that the pool contractor does the startup because it maintains accountability. By doing the startup ourselves, we can be sure the process is correctly done from start to finish.
Why should I work with a company that is a certified installer recognized by NPT?
Being a certified installer by NPT means the plaster/pebble company went through a stringent review process to qualify. With our certificate, Stanton Pools has proven to uphold certain quality application practices that get you the best and most durable finished surface. It also means our warranty is backed by the manufacturer, so you are completely covered.

Why is the chip out method better than hydroblasting for plaster removal?
Hydroblasting is similar to pressure washing and only removes part of the original surface to be replaced. The chip out method, however, removes significantly more of the old surface to expose most of the concrete shell of the pool. By using the chip out method, the new material (e.g., pebble) has much better adhesion to the shell of the pool, which greatly reduces the likelihood of delamination and extends the life of your new surface.

Winnetka Pool Maintenance Services

Maintaining a swimming pool is no easy feat. That said, we have tailored services that will help you keep your private oasis in good condition.

pool cleaning

1. Weekly Pool Cleaning

One of the services we offer in the Winnetka area is weekly pool cleaning. By regularly cleaning the pool, our customers can prevent more serious issues from happening.

The service typically starts with our pool professional scooping floating debris on the swimming pool using a telescopic pole. Usually, dead leaves, dried twigs, and bugs can be collected from the water. It will be followed by a brisk brushing of the pool walls and the pool floor to remove dirt or any mineral buildup that might have accumulated on the pool’s surface. The dirt will be collected underwater using a pool vacuum.

A quick check of the pool lights, the pool equipment bay, and the overall structural integrity of the pool will be conducted. The pool guy will report any possible issues to the owner.

Finally, the water will be tested and its chemical balance checked. The attending pool professional will adjust the pool water’s balance by adding the necessary chemicals.

2. Pool Equipment Repair

The equipment used to run the swimming pool can encounter problems over time. It could be from wear or from a broken component. It is important that a pool equipment system be addressed immediately as faulty pool equipment can cause major problems for a pool owner.

As an example, a swimming pool without proper water circulation could cause algae development. The pool pump is responsible for moving the water around the pool. The water from the actual pool gets sucked by the pump, which then gets fed to the filter. This process ensures that the water is regularly cleaned. Should the pool pump fail, water cannot be routed to the filter resulting in unnecessary microorganisms growing in the pool water.

Our pool professionals will visit the pool and inspect the equipment bay. Any repairable component may be remedied although those in the risk of compromising the equipment system should be replaced.
