Pool Resurfacing Malibu

1. Work Carried Out by Professionals

We understand the value that our customers invest when they say they want to remodel or resurface their pool. That said, it’s only proper for us to assure their swimming pool will be serviced by trained and experienced professionals who know exactly what they are doing.

Stanton Pools have been in the industry for well over a decade. Our experience has allowed us to gain significant knowledge of how to address certain swimming pool issues and how to make sure that the projects we carry out will not only look good, but will also exceed our customer’s expectations in terms of longevity and quality.

Our pool-resurfacing Malibu services are done by our crew of pool resurfacing experts who have done this kind of work for a long time. Deploying a team of experienced pros means that we will respect your time in helping you achieve your dream pool.

Additionally, Stanton Pools is a fully licensed, bonded, and insured pool maintenance, repair, and construction company.

2. Pool Resurfacing That Lasts

As we briefly covered above, our years in providing swimming pool services have allowed us to gain the know-how to carry out swimming pool projects that last.

For example, we begin our pool-resurfacing Malibu services by securing a place to drain the water. Next, we remove the hydrostatic plug or drill holes on the pool floor to make sure that it will not pop from the ground.

Then, we carefully chip out the old surface using traditional tools like hammers and chisels. Doing so allows our crew to remove the old surface while respecting the integrity of the concrete underneath. Areas that require a little more power can be removed using more modern equipment like a pneumatic jackhammer. Digging deep with these tools lets us create trenches for when we need to add rebars to strengthen the concrete.

Once the old surface is removed and the exposed concrete is prepared, we will apply the material chosen by the pool owner. It will be left to set and cure which is an important part of the pool-resurfacing Malibu service as it will ensure that the material will hold onto the concrete, offering a lasting result.

With that done, we fill the swimming pool with water and adjust the water’s chemical balance.

3. Pool Pipe Conversions

While our pool-resurfacing Malibu services are usually aimed at removing the old shell and replacing it with a new one, our customers sometimes take this time and opportunity to update their swimming pool piping.

Older swimming pools are often built with copper pipes. Converting them to PVC pipes can make the plumbing more sturdy as PVC pipes are actually thicker than copper pipes. Additionally, they can better handle impact damage and abrasions. They also do not corrode like copper and are generally quieter despite running high-water velocities and speeds.

It is also easier to install PVC pipes compared to copper. Having a more affordable price tag also helps pool owners make the decision to switch to PVC pipes.

4. Variable-Speed Pool Pump

We also install variable-speed pool pumps should our clients require this service during our pool-resurfacing Malibu service.

The benefits of running a variable-speed pump can outweigh its somewhat expensive upfront cost. A single-speed pool pump obviously runs only at a single speed. What this means is that the pump is subjected to constant pressure and that the power consumption is also consistent.

A variable-speed pool pump, on the other hand, can run at different speeds. When the pool is not in use, the owner can change the speed setting allowing the pump to ease its workload and the power necessary to run.

That said, the longevity of the actual pump is preserved and the operational cost of using the swimming pool is also reduced. Both are achieved without having to compromise the quality of the pool water.

5. Available Materials

The available materials we offer our customers provide them with many customization options when they take up our pool-resurfacing Malibu services.

Homeowners looking for something simple and affordable can choose a plaster finish. Plaster is actually relatively cheap, but has benefits that can rival its more expensive counterparts. For example, white plaster gives the pool water a beautiful appearance. In the same way, white plaster allows pool owners to easily spot smears, damages, and mineral buildup on the pool walls and floors.

Pool owners, who want something more lasting, can cleverly select a pebble stone finish. Pebble stones come in different colors in addition to different sizes. One of the more popular choices is the sandy, brown-hued pebble stone. It is perfect for outdoor swimming pools which can be matched with similarly-themed swimming pool features like a beach entry or Baja steps.

Meanwhile, pool owners who want to enrich their pools can go for a pool with a tile finish. Tiles offer a variety of colors as well as countless design options. Some available designs are pre-cut letters and symbols. Using tiles also gives the swimming pool a lasting beauty as tiles are generally more durable than plaster.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why is it important to work with a contractor that is licensed, bonded, and insured?

By working with a licensed, bonded, and insured pool contractor, you can rest assured we have the knowledge, experience, and coverage to safely and properly revamp your pool – everything will be done to industry’s best practices.

Why does Stanton Pools not ask for a deposit?
We only ask for progress payments after certain phases of each job are complete. Unlike most contractors, we’ve never felt right asking for payment before work was done. This way, you’re in control and can trust we will complete each phase to your satisfaction.
What is the warranty on plaster and pebble?
Pebble has a 10-year warranty on bubbling, delamination, and pop-off (it often lasts 15-20 years). Plaster has a similar warranty, but only for 2 years because it is not as durable of a material compared to pebble.
Does Stanton Pools include the startup with every remodel?
Absolutely. It is extremely important that the pool contractor does the startup because it maintains accountability. By doing the startup ourselves, we can be sure the process is correctly done from start to finish.
Why should I work with a company that is a certified installer recognized by NPT?
Being a certified installer by NPT means the plaster/pebble company went through a stringent review process to qualify. With our certificate, Stanton Pools has proven to uphold certain quality application practices that get you the best and most durable finished surface. It also means our warranty is backed by the manufacturer, so you are completely covered.

Why is the chip out method better than hydroblasting for plaster removal?
Hydroblasting is similar to pressure washing and only removes part of the original surface to be replaced. The chip out method, however, removes significantly more of the old surface to expose most of the concrete shell of the pool. By using the chip out method, the new material (e.g., pebble) has much better adhesion to the shell of the pool, which greatly reduces the likelihood of delamination and extends the life of your new surface.

Malibu Pool Maintenance Services

A newly resurfaced, Malibu pool needs professional-quality love and care. That’s why we encourage our customers to take full advantage of our pool maintenance services. Here’s what we offer to keep your swimming pool looking pristine.

1. Weekly Pool Cleaning

Keeping a pool clean should be easy; that’s why we offer services that can make cleaning your pool a breeze. One of our pool professionals can visit your swimming pool on a weekly basis. The cleaning service starts with the debris being scooped from the pool water. It is usually followed by the brushing of the pool walls and the pool floor. Then, the steps and the coping of the pool are also scrubbed.

The dirt that falls off can be collected using a pool vacuum.

Finally, the water will be inspected to make sure that it has the ideal chemical balance. The pool’s structural integrity and the equipment bay will also be checked.

2. Pool Equipment Repair

We also repair various pool equipment should they fail to work. A pool professional will check the equipment bay and perform an initial assessment. Parts that can be salvaged will be repaired and reused although those that could compromise the quality of the components might need to be replaced.

Should our technician advise you that the pool equipment needs to be replaced, rest assured that the advice is given with your best interest in mind.
