Sherman Oaks Pool Resurfacing

1. Pool Resurfacing Done Right

It has always been our aim to ensure that we complete our projects in a satisfactory and timely manner for our clients. We value their time and we show our professionalism by finishing our Sherman Oaks, pool resurfacing project on the date we agreed on.

So, we make sure that we do not encounter any mishaps by following tried and tested methods when resurfacing a swimming pool.

First, we begin by carefully removing the old surface by using a combination of traditional tools as well as new and modern ones. We often use hammers and chisels to ensure the concrete below is not damaged during the process of removing it. And should the job call for it, we employ heavy-duty tools, like jackhammers.

Once the surface has been removed, we prepare the exposed concrete and begin applying your material of choice. Our team will have to wait for the material to set and cure before any job can be done. This part cannot be skipped as allowing proper time for the new surface to stick to the concrete will result in a more durable build. Adding water immediately might compromise the outcome of the resurfacing project.

We will then fill the pool with water and test it to ensure that it is properly balanced. When the right water chemistry is achieved, we will then turn over the pool to our customer.

2. Resurfacing and Retiling

Not only do we apply new surfaces on old pools, through our Sherman Oaks pool resurfacing services, but we also work on the pool’s tiles.

One good example is the resurfacing and retiling project we did for our customers. We applied mini pebbles as its new surface and added waterline tiles that match its hue.

The blue-toned mini pebblestones created a beautiful blue water effect while the azure waterline tiles further highlight the inviting water. The project lasted for two to four weeks and involved a little bit of pool renovation.

On that note, we do offer a wide range of tile products and are able to source different pool tiles. For customers who want a beach-themed backyard pool, we can use sand-colored pebbles and pair them with earth-toned waterline tiles. Further, we can even help build a deck with stone slabs to incorporate the design of the pool deck with the actual pool.

3. Pool Equipment Repair

It will be hard to maintain your newly-resurfaced swimming pool if your pool equipment is not working properly. That said, we offer pool equipment repair for various components found in the pool equipment bay.

We can send a technician to check on your pool equipment and check the status and working condition of your pool equipment. The professional technician will assess the different pool equipment such as the pool heater, pool filter, and pool pump.

Any parts that can be repaired might be salvaged, however, the technician will tell you about broken or worn-off parts that need replacing. Rest assured that when the technician tells you that a part needs to be replaced, he or she has your best interest in mind.

4. Pool Pipe Conversion

During our Sherman Oaks pool resurfacing project, our customers can get their pool plumbing converted.

For those who do not know, old swimming pools were built with copper pipes back in the day. Copper, as you might imagine, is prone to rusting and corrosion. That said, the quality of the plumbing degrades over time and even leads to broken pipes or congestion of the pipes.

So, many of our customers have decided to change their plumbing system to PVC as these plastic pipes offer more advantages than disadvantages. For one, PVC pipes are not susceptible to corrosion and can better withstand pressure and impact damage. They are also great at handling noises as PVC pipes create less sound even at high water speeds and velocities. Lastly, PVC pipes are cheaper than copper pipes, so many pool owners opt to use these plumbing materials more than their copper counterparts.

5. Remote WiFi System Installation

During our Sherman Oaks, pool resurfacing services, some of our customers request to have remote WiFi systems installed on their swimming pool to truly level up their backyard pool game.

A remote WiFi system allows swimming pool owners to control some functions of their pool equipment system from afar. For example, one can turn the temperature of the pool heater up in the comfort of one’s couch using a remote system. There’s no need to go near the equipment bay and fiddle around with the controls there.

Imagine living with kids and seniors. No need to have them walk all the way to your outdoor equipment bay, the water will be waiting for them at the right temperature.

Similarly, you can control the pressure of the water on your variable-speed water pump from afar through a remote system. Doing so will help you further save money by lowering the overall operational cost of your pool since you can remotely tone down the power requirements of your pool.

Likewise, controls to the swimming pool lights, the pool fountain, and all other pool features can be linked with the WiFi remote allowing you to toggle settings comfortably on your couch.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why is it important to work with a contractor that is licensed, bonded, and insured?

By working with a licensed, bonded, and insured pool contractor, you can rest assured we have the knowledge, experience, and coverage to safely and properly revamp your pool – everything will be done to industry’s best practices.

Why does Stanton Pools not ask for a deposit?
We only ask for progress payments after certain phases of each job are complete. Unlike most contractors, we’ve never felt right asking for payment before work was done. This way, you’re in control and can trust we will complete each phase to your satisfaction.
What is the warranty on plaster and pebble?
Pebble has a 10-year warranty on bubbling, delamination, and pop-off (it often lasts 15-20 years). Plaster has a similar warranty, but only for 2 years because it is not as durable of a material compared to pebble.
Does Stanton Pools include the startup with every remodel?
Absolutely. It is extremely important that the pool contractor does the startup because it maintains accountability. By doing the startup ourselves, we can be sure the process is correctly done from start to finish.
Why should I work with a company that is a certified installer recognized by NPT?
Being a certified installer by NPT means the plaster/pebble company went through a stringent review process to qualify. With our certificate, Stanton Pools has proven to uphold certain quality application practices that get you the best and most durable finished surface. It also means our warranty is backed by the manufacturer, so you are completely covered.

Why is the chip out method better than hydroblasting for plaster removal?
Hydroblasting is similar to pressure washing and only removes part of the original surface to be replaced. The chip out method, however, removes significantly more of the old surface to expose most of the concrete shell of the pool. By using the chip out method, the new material (e.g., pebble) has much better adhesion to the shell of the pool, which greatly reduces the likelihood of delamination and extends the life of your new surface.

Sherman Oaks Pool Maintenance

Maintaining a swimming pool is key to keeping it pristine. That said, we have developed recurring cleaning services to allow pool owners to enjoy their investments for years to come. These pool cleaning and maintenance solutions are also carried out by trained professionals who are knowledgeable about swimming pool maintenance.

pool cleaning

1. Weekly Cleaning

Our weekly swimming pool service for the Sherman Oaks area usually starts with the pool guy picking up debris in the pool area. Dead leaves, dried twigs, and even bugs can sink to the bottom of the pool where they will slowly — but ultimately — decompose. When this happens, the decomposed debris can affect the quality of the pool water. It will first begin to disrupt its chemical balance and then invite unwanted microorganisms to develop.

The next thing you know you’re growing algae in your pool, and that’s not a beautiful sight.

After cleaning the debris, the pool professional attending to your swimming pool will then scrub the walls, the steps, and the floor. This step is important as the thorough scrubbing of these surfaces ensures that mineral deposits and other unwanted lifeforms are removed from your pool area. Once they have been brushed, they will be collected by a pool vacuum.

To ensure that your swimming pool has the proper chemical balance, our pool guy will adjust the chemicals in the water. After which, he or she will check the condition of your pool equipment and the overall structural integrity of the swimming pool.

2. Pool Renovations

We, at Stanton Pools, also offer pool renovation services. While we cater to the basic removal and replacement of the swimming pool’s surface, we also accommodate requests for personalized swimming pool remodeling.

You can choose from a wide array of swimming pool features like pool lights, pool fountains, fire pits, and pool bars. We can use different materials to finish your swimming pool such as white and colored plaster, medium-sized and mini pebbles, different styles of pool tiles, and more.

Building pool decks are also part of the services we offer. We can help you make swimming pool decks that complement the design of your pool and your property from Mediterranean-style pool decks to those that mimic the architectural beauty of Roman and Greek baths.

Our goal at Stanton Pools is to become your one-stop-shop for everything swimming pool. We know the hassle of having to deal with too many people to get various jobs done. We’re here to make it simple, to give you a seamless experience. We’re just one email, text, or phone call away.
